STEM Professional Development Activities and Their Impact on Teacher Knowledge and Instructional Practices

The science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) field is a crucial global driver for the development of various aspects modern society, such as economy, education, skills 21st-century workforce. All countries strive to produce STEM talent meet future economic markets. Sustained professional (PD) can support reform in STEM. Teachers need training improve their knowledge, understanding, teaching practices, which affect students’ meaningful learning. As result, systematic study was carried out identify PD activities influence on teachers’ knowledge instructional methods. peer-reviewed publications were published between 2017 2021, Scopus, Web Science, EBSCOhost databases used find them. A comprehensive review these empirical articles produced total 15 subthemes under impact themes. results exhibited that dominant included engineering indirectly had an extremely high practices related design, problem-solving process it relates design process, experiences scientists engineers. Finally, several recommendations sustainability research reference are presented.
